Cedar-O

KEY Cm

Cedar-o, oh Cedar-ho

We’ve got cedar down below

Sailing north to Sydney town

So blow you good winds blow-

Oh-o-oh-o-oh-o-oh

Sailing north to Sydney town

Blow you good winds blow

Down along the southern coast

Woodcutters they will raise a toast

To all the cedar growing there

It’s growing everywhere

Two men it takes to work that saw

Cutting ’til yer hands are raw

Working from the dawn ’til dusk

Fellin’ cedar trees

Cedar-o, oh Cedar-ho

We’ve got cedar down below

Sailing north to Sydney town

So blow you good winds blow-

Oh-o-oh-o-oh-o-oh

Sailing north to Sydney town

Blow you good winds blow

They clear the bush and cut the trees

Makin’ way for the bullocky

Drag the boughs down to the sea

They’re hardy company

Sailing out of Gerringong

Kiama harbour loading on

That precious cargo in the hold

They’re calling it ‘Red Gold’

Sailing north to Sydney town

Oh-o-oh-o-oh-o-oh

Sailing north to Sydney town
